They always say that fashion trends come back around through the years, and this classic 90s throwback is back just in time for the holidays. Besides the silky soft material, the best thing about satin dresses is that you can pair them with almost anything- making them a holiday staple wherever you are this season.
From sexy and laid back to a formal Christmas party, check out these five dresses we are obsessed with this holiday season!
Wherever you are this holiday season, we have you covered with the season’s trendiest dresses!
The end of September brings the beginning of fall, and even though we don't always see that chilly fall weather right away here in Charlotte, that has not stopped our team from getting in the spooky spirit.
Some would say our team is more excited about Halloween than the average person. If you polled our team over half of us would probably say Halloween is their favorite holiday; so this collection is very exciting for us and we're even more excited now that it's live.
After working very hard on this collection for the past couple months, seeing it come in piece by piece, and trying to add our ghost on a skateboard to as many pieces as we could, it was time for the photoshoot.
Finding the perfect location was a little trickier than we thought since most fall activities start in October, but after a lot of searching we were able to find a spot that completely surpassed all of our expectations: the Carrigan Farms Haunted Trail.
We are so excited to share all of these spooky pieces with you and we hope there is something for everyone in this collection whether you are a Halloween super fan or just want something festive to wear on October 31st!

"On October 3rd, he asked me what day it was.." and on September 15th we're launching our Mean Girls inspired mini collection so we can all celebrate the unofficial/official Mean Girls Day in style!
When thinking about this collection and where we wanted to take it the whole team agreed that we wanted to focus the collection as an ode to best friends. This only seemed fitting as Girl Tribe is a brand by best friends, for best friends and we hope that this collection can be a celebration of that.
We also hope that this collection brings you a nostalgia, to your favorite early 2000s movies, a nostalgia to your high school best friends, to the girls who got you through those times in life when you've encountered mean girls.
We hope you can celebrate this launch with us by grabbing your bestie, grabbing a tee or a sweatshirt, laugh about all of your favorite lines in the movie, and thanking the girls in your life for not being a mean girl.
Each week we will be highlighting one of our collections on our stories and on the blog! This week's collection of the week is made up of a few pieces from our nurse and teacher collection and a couple of new hats we've recently added! We made this collection to celebrate all of the hard work our nurses and teachers have done this past year, and we thought a great way to celebrate the new school year would be to highlight products made just for our neighborhood heroes!
Starting with the Nurse Tee. As the weather got warmer this spring/summer we decided to make our beloved puff sweatshirt into a super cute tee!!
Next up is our brand new distressed Nurse Hat! This super cute pink distressed hat is the perfect accessory and matches our Nurse Crewneck perfectly!
Our Nurse Sweatshirt was so popular we added another color option! Nothing is better than an oversized crew! This crew also makes the perfect gift for any of the nurses or future nurses in your life!
Arguably everybody's favorite McDreamy quote, "It's a beautiful day to save lives" is the perfect quote for a Megamug!
Another oversized crewneck but this time make it purple puff and for all our teacher babes! This Teacher Sweatshirt makes the perfect back to school gift!
This new Teacher Hat in Lilac matches our Teacher Crewneck Sweatshirt perfectly! This hat is a must buy to complete your whole teacher 'fit!
Add a pop of color to your classroom with this hot pink Teacher Tee! This tee pairs great with a maxi skirt or a pair of your favorite jeans!!
To all of our nurses and teachers, we appreciate all the hard work you have continued to put in despite all of the challenges of this year, we appreciate you!!

With the start of September, comes the beginning of the fall fashion season. A time when all of us are ready to put away the denim shorts and sandals and grab our favorite boots and sweaters.
One of the best ways to create a smooth transition from summer to fall fashion are with dresses you can layer up or dress down!
Check out these four dresses we are loving to help us transition into our fall wardrobe!
We love this neutral babydoll, puff sleeve dress. The tan colors give all of the fall feels. This dress can be paired with your favorite sandals on warmer days or little black booties, crew socks and your favorite black cardigan on days when it's a little cooler outside.
Nothing says fall quite like a chocolate brown sweater dress and the Ava Knit Dress is our new favorite fall staple. Pair it with a matching chocolate brown cardigan for a monochrome outfit or wear it on its own!
The muted purples and tans on this dress and cozy floral pattern make this dress the perfect fall favorite. Pair with a turtleneck underneath, with a jean jacket on top, or on its own. This little floral maxi is super versatile!
Green is here to stay and the Emmalie dress is the green maxi dress of our dreams. Wear it on its own or layer it with a denim jacket or light sweater over top. Another super versatile fall staple dress.
Wherever this fall takes you we've got you covered with the best transitional pieces for any occassion!

This summer we have had so much fun collaborating with our favorite influencers and local brands to bring you unique mini collections.
When we thought about what other brand we wanted to partner with, Shop Homewurk was at the forefront of all of our minds. Not only do all of us around the office love her merch, but she’s also participated in many of our Girl Tribe Pop Up events this summer at Alexander Homestead.
From our first meeting with Shop Homewurk founder Annabelle Johnson, there was instant excitement to figure out how we could create the perfect blend of our two brands. It was important to both teams that we kept the spirit of each brand in the collection, while also making it a cohesive collaboration.
“When we were first dreaming up ideas of a collaboration between Girl Tribe and Homewurk I knew I wanted it to be the perfect mix of both brands,” said Annabelle, “and the words that came to my mind were feminine, encouraging, neutral and youthful. After this past year I had decided that in each merch collection I create I wanted it to have an inspirational or meaningful quote incorporated into it in hopes of encouraging not only those who wear the pieces, but also those that see others wearing the pieces as well. Both of the quotes that were chosen had to do with growth and evolving and it only felt fitting that a butterfly would go along with that!”
From those ideas and inspiration a vision board and our initial art board was made. Then it was time to start teasing the collection. Both us and Annabelle had posted a few Instagram stories along the way, but the news of a collaboration collection officially dropped at Girl Tribe Pop Up in the Garden in July with a photo moment revealing one of the designs from the collection.

This collection means a lot to our team here at Girl Tribe as well, as we have been experiencing a lot of growth and change during these past few months. We’ve grown out of our office, we're working out of a temporary office, and we've grown our team. In launching this collection we are all reminding ourself that change is good, and we're giving ourselves the space and time to grow even when it's uncomfortable and when there's some bumps along the way. We're excited to continue dreaming with you all. Thank you all for your continued support. xo

Today on the blog we are walking through the process from start to finish in creating our special mini collection with influencer Mikayla Keep.
An Idea Was Born
Our team continues to come up with new ideas, try new collections, and expand our audience. Collaborating with an influencer is something that we had always wanted to do, and after meeting Mikayla at one of our Girl Tribe Pop Up events we knew she would be the perfect influencer to collaborate with.
From Mood Board to Art Board
Once we had Mikayla on board we created a mood board drawing inspiration from Mikayla’s Instagram feed and pulled images that we thought would match her vibe and what she would want to wear on a shirt or hat.
After we created the mood board we presented it to Mikayla in a meeting with our design team and talked about colors, samples, and sayings until we mapped out the perfect mini collection. Our design team was able to take all of the ideas and concepts and create two solid designs: one hat and one sweatshirt
In thinking of places to shoot, our team decided that the best place to shoot would be the backdrop of so many of Mikayla's Instagram photos: her very own house. Here are some behind the scenes of the shoot!!
